Does it require any technical expertise to install it?

A: Not really, WLC can be installed by any normal adult with some basic electrical knowledge can install this equipment by looking at the manual. However any locally available electrician can do this very easily.

How to measure the depth of the water in bore well?

A: usually a stone is tied to a thread of length 5-10 feet longer than your bore well depth. This stone is tied with thread is lowered slowly in to the bore well hole. Once the stone hits the bottom, one can feel the sense that there is no more pull in the thread. Then the thread is pulled back and measured. This gives the depth of bore well and the length of thread which is wet portion gives the depth of water in your bore well. Please ensure that the thread you use should be strong and durable and also while tying the stone with the thread, please tie the knot properly.

What kind of cable to be used for connecting sensors with the device?

A: The cable used for connecting WLC device with the sensors should be  3 core 1 sqmm

Does any kind of maintenance is involved for WLC?

A: usually no maintenance is involved as far as device is concerned. As per our knowledge any WLC device lasts more than 10 years without any problem. Yes but there is one thing which you may have to check and that is sometimes the sensors get corroded. When Sensors get corroded it stops sending signals to the AWLC device and you can find that device starts to malfunction as it is not receiving the proper signals or no signal at all.

Can we install WLC in existing house, where nonexclusive conducting is done for WLC?

A: Yes you can install the WLC in existing house where no exclusive conducting is done for the installation of AWLC. While doing so, one can run the cable exposed on the wall or use casing to cover it up. There are instances where you may have to run the cable in flooring to reach the bore well or UG Sump. And you can do so by making a tine groove in the flooring using tiles cutting machine, lay the cable and cover it with a cement. However this may look odd in term of aesthetics but it serves one of the main purpose of saving water and peace of mind

How to override WLC in case of any malfunction?

A: Every AWLC will have a button, upon pressing which your AWLC will come to manual mode. This shift becomes very important when your WLC starts malfunctioning. One can continue to use the manual mode till the service person come and repair or replaces your AWLC. But please be informed that during manual override mode, one has to manually monitor the pumping activity as per the traditional method mentioned above.

Where should the WLC be placed in our house?

A: First of all identify a place where you can strategically fix the WLC. The place should satisfy following requirements, Should not be exposed to direct sunlight and rain should have an input power supply recommended to be placed right next to pump power switch or starter.

How to do the conduit for connecting WLC?

A: This is very helpful when one is building his new house. Planning exclusive conduit system will avoid many hazels of running the cable on the surface. Once the location for fixing WLC device is located then following conduit needs to done with the help of your electrician,

  1. One conduit has to run from the WLC device up to the Sump tank/Bore-well and using 3 core water level controller cable connect the sensors in the sup tank/ Bore-well and in the same conduit run the power cable for submersible pump starting from WLC device
  2. One conduit has to run from the WLC device up to the OHT and run only the sensor cable from WLC device to the OHT and connect the same to sensors in OHT.
